Gianni graduated in Law from the University of Genoa in 1970 and has built a professional career spanning more than fifty years. During his studies, he was awarded two scholarships at the Hague Academy of International Law (1968 and 1969) and later completed the program in American and International Law at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, strengthening his foundation in private international law.
He has been a member of the Milan Bar since 1976 and was admitted to practice before the Italian Supreme Court in 1995. Over the course of his career, he has developed extensive experience in commercial law and corporate transactions, with a particular focus on M&A and cross-border operations. He has advised multinational corporations and industrial groups on investments in Italy and abroad, as well as Italian companies pursuing international expansion, with notable experience in the tourism sector and foreign concessions.
Gianni has acted as both sole arbitrator and chair of arbitral tribunals under appointments from the Milan Chamber of Commerce and the Milan Bar Council. From 2001 to 2005, he served on the Disciplinary Committee of the Italian Professional Football League.
He has been a speaker at legal conferences in Italy and abroad (including the United Kingdom, Sweden, and France) and has been a founding member of the Milan Bar’s International Relations Committee, contributing to the establishment of cooperation agreements with numerous foreign Bars. For several years, he also served as the Italian representative of the international network INTERLAW.
He is fluent in English and French.
